Until now, there have not been many opportunities in Japan to receive the teachings of Dzogchen directly, and above all those of Yangti Nakpo, which lies at its innermost depth.
By good fortune, Chung Tulku Rinpoche, a living Buddha of Bhutan, will teach in Japan.
Few Hold This Lineage
We understand that very few people in the world hold the teachings of Dzogchen, and in particular the Yangti Nakpo transmission.
Khetsun Sangpo Rinpoche, who was the teacher of Rinpoche and also of Dr. Shinichi Nakazawa, was one of the few holders who passed on this teaching. Today, the chance to hear it directly from one who carries on his lamp of the Dharma has itself become very precious.
Why Japan, and Why Now?
Rinpoche now teaches in Asia and in countries around the world.
Among them, he has shown a deep interest in Japan, where the Buddhist tradition has taken root and which has ties with Bhutan.
He wishes to teach step by step, all the way to the innermost teachings of Yangti Nakpo.
We are deeply grateful to have met with this opportunity.
What We Can Do
We understand that in order to receive the teachings, it is important that we on our side are prepared.
We will prepare the places where the teachings can be received step by step, and where the practice can be received and carried out, at our bases in Tokyo, Karuizawa, and Kumano.
This is not a commercial venture. We hope to prepare these places little by little, joining forces with those who share this connection.
Toward Rinpoche’s Second Visit to Japan
Rinpoche’s second visit to Japan is planned for April 2027, and we are preparing earnestly. Details will be announced in our news section.
As a Center, we will do our part to welcome Rinpoche and to see that his teachings reach Japan safely.
