Creating the teaching materials of Three Kaya Dharma Center — translation, writing, curriculum design, and the establishment and running of retreats

The Lotus-Born Project is the work of preparing materials for study, carried out by the Center’s representative. What is made here is used in the Center’s study and practice.

Books

Reading Circles and Translation

We read through Buddhist books not yet available in Japanese, working from the original texts in our reading circles. Each participant keeps the original at hand, and the representative translates and explains on the spot. For books for which we have received permission to translate, we prepare translations and make them available to participants.

Monthly Gathering

Would you like to gather once a month on Zoom? We hope to spend the time together with brief explanations of books, sutras, and mantras, reading sutras aloud, and trying meditation. Participation is entirely voluntary. For details, see the Monthly Gathering page (available after member registration; in Japanese).

AI Treasury of Sutras (AI Zōkyōkaku)

This is an effort to reorganize Buddhist knowledge using AI. Using the Nyingma fifteen-yana system presented in A Panoramic View of Buddhism as its shelving scheme, its purpose is to pass on to the next generation, without letting them be scattered, the materials and knowledge connected with the Yangti Nakpo lineage. We are designing it to open in stages. AI does not generate the teachings themselves.

The organization of knowledge based on the fifteen-yana system has already begun. We will report on progress from time to time.

Curriculum Design

We are building a curriculum that advances study and practice in parallel, following the fifteen yanas. Centered on Tokyo (study) and Karuizawa (medium-term practice), we are preparing Kumano as a place for long-term practice. How these three locations are used is itself part of the curriculum.

From 2027, instruction by Chung Tulku Rinpoche will actually begin. Details will be announced in due course.

About This Project

All of this is made to serve the study of Three Kaya Dharma Center. For the Center’s activities themselves, please see the Home page; for the representative’s background, see About the Representative (in Japanese).
