This is a group that reads Buddhist books by translating them as we go, with the original at hand. The circles are divided by book, and you need to apply separately for each book you wish to join.
Once we have confirmed your application, you can enter the room for that book.
We recommend that you start by observing a session. Before you buy the original book, please come and see what the circle is like.
Books with Translated Texts for You to Read
We have been given permission by the authors and publishers to translate these books, so participants can read the translated texts. They are read on screen and are not handed out. Please do not take them outside the circle.
The Taste of the Blessing of Luminous Clear Light
A book by Chung Tulku Rinpoche, the teacher of our Center. It has now been published as a book. We will not hold a reading circle for it for the time being, so please buy it from Amazon. (We are preparing an information page on Amazon.)
Buddhist Meditation: Meditation Methods of the Fifteen Vehicles of Buddhism
A systematic work on meditation by Chen Chien-min, a lay yogi. It arranges the calm-abiding and insight practices of the Hinayana, Mahayana, and Vajrayana as one connected system.
The Life of the Living Buddha Konka: Biographies of Eminent Masters, a Kagyu Tulku
A biography of the Living Buddha Konka, a Kagyu master who brought Tibetan Buddhism to the Han Chinese world. The reading circle for this book has ended. The Japanese translation is complete and is due to be published soon.
Because of copyright, we cannot show translated texts. Everyone keeps the original book at hand, and the Director translates and explains it on the spot.
